General School Guidelines And Policy

GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT FOR LEARNERS

CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE

At Gajera Global School, we regard parents as our esteemed partners in the education of our students. We believe that cleanliness and discipline are indispensable elements of a child’s education, and as such, we anticipate our school community, comprising of parents and students, to uphold the values of our institution, show deference to our teachers, and set an exemplary precedent for all within the premises.

In this regard, it is imperative that our school community adopt a positive attitude to ensure the smooth functioning and prestige of our institution.

  • Punctuality is an absolute must at all times. Latecomers may be sent home.
  • Students must carry the School Almanac daily, filled with complete information, a photograph of the child, and signed by parents.
  • When moving along the corridors, stairs, and changing classes, students must maintain silence and walk along the grill side.
  • Avoid littering, and only use the bins provided.
  • Chewing gum or similar substances are prohibited.
  • Students should not bring valuable items such as jewelry, watches, iPads, gadgets, cameras, mobiles, weapons, or sharp instruments to school. If found, the item will be confiscated, and strict action will be taken against the student.
  • Only materials related to school activities should be brought to school. Water balloons, crackers, or any other materials that could disturb the school’s environment are strictly prohibited.
  • All items must have the student’s name label on them. The school/teacher cannot be held responsible for lost articles.
  • Students must take care to preserve and protect school property. Parents/Guardians will be held liable for any damages caused by their ward.
  • Students must greet visitors, guests, and staff politely and treat them with respect.
  • Students must behave appropriately, treat each other with respect, and refrain from using vulgar or slang language.

SCHOOL PROPERTY

  • It is imperative that students handle school property with great care.
  • Students must refrain from defacing or writing on walls, tables, or chairs.
  • Great care must be taken when operating equipment such as computers, interactive boards and overhead projectors.
  • In the event of any damage, whether accidental or intentional, students must report it immediately to their class educator or coordinator.
  • Any damage caused by willful or careless behavior will need to be compensated for by the parent or guardian.
  • The care and upkeep of all classroom property is the responsibility of the students who use it.
  • When using equipment in the computer lab, physics lab, biology lab, or any other resource rooms, students are expected to exercise caution and follow laboratory rules.

ARRIVAL & DISPERSAL

  • Learners are expected to arrive at school by 7:50 am sharp. Timeliness is of the essence, and learners who arrive late will not be permitted to enter the school premises without a plausible explanation.
  • Arriving late to school is not acceptable, and we take this matter seriously. Learners who are found to have come late for more than three days will not be allowed to attend classes, and disciplinary action shall be taken against them.
  • If a learner is late to school for three consecutive times, they will be sent back home. We urge parents to ensure their children understand the importance of punctuality.
  • Learners should not arrive at the school more than 30 minutes before the official start of the school day. Please note that no supervision is available for children before 7:50 am.
  • We discourage early dismissal as important classroom activities take place every day. However, should the need arise, a child will only be handed over to their parents or guardians if the school has been notified in writing that they have granted permission for someone else to pick up their child.
  • Parents or authorized persons must come and meet the school coordinator to sign the gate pass and collect the learner. For safety purposes, a parent ID must be carried at all times.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

  • It is imperative that learners take great care of their personal possessions.
  • Valuables ought not to be brought onto school grounds.
  • The school cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage incurred to valuable items or articles such as laptops, books, clothing, money, calculators, snack boxes, and the like.
  • All articles brought to school should be appropriately labelled.

  • Children are expected to share and/or take turns with all playground equipment.
  • Always walk on the left side of the playground when going to or playing on it.
