Assessment of Learning

Learners in Standards 3 – 6 are assessed ‘continuously’ throughout the semester using a range of assessment tools.

There is great emphasis placed on Assessment for Learning strategies rather than regular ‘testing’ of Learner knowledge. We aim to develop skills across the range of subject offerings.

GRADE BOUNDARIES

In English, Hindi B, Mathematics, ICT, Art, Music and PE, Learners are awarded a grade using the following Grade Boundaries.

In the Early year program, Learners are assessed according to specific criteria that determines their levels as

  • Developing or
  • Mastering

Attitude to Learning

Attitude to Learning is assessed continuously throughout the year in relation to these criteria:
  • Responsible for own learning
  • Uses class time productively
  • Works co-operatively
  • Completes tasks by the due date and in the appropriate format
  • Actively participates


In Term Reports (T1 and T2) and Semester Reports (S1 and S2), AtL is assessed in each subject as:
  • Excellent
  • Good
  • Adequate
  • Needs improvement

Learners receive ONE AtL grade for each subject.
